Frost & Sullivan is a global consulting firm that provides market research and analysis, growth strategy consulting, and professional development programs. The organization regularly presents the Technology Leadership Award to companies that are leading the way in the development and use of new technologies. Frost & Sullivan applies a rigorous analytical process to evaluate multiple nominees for each award category before determining the final winner. Ziehm Imaging excelled in many categories and was recognized for its strong overall performance with the 2023 Technology Leadership Award for mobile C-arms, specifically with the new IGZO flat-panel detector, for intraoperative imaging. “As the first company to successfully introduce a fully digital mobile C-arm system with flat-panel technology, and attain significant market penetration, Ziehm is the undisputed market leader. As of 2022, Ziehm Imaging has 13 offices and more than 800 employees, and it has demonstrated its industry leadership by setting up a total of 22,000 C-arms since its foundation.”Dr. Bejoy Daniel, Senior Industry Analyst, Healthcare & Life Sciences
Image quality and minimizing radiation exposure are major challenges in the field of X-ray imaging. Demand for high-end solutions that address these challenges is increasing, and the market is evolving from image intensifier systems to flat detector-based technologies, such as amorphous silicon (a-Si), complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS), and indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO). The latter, Ziehm Imaging’s IGZO innovation, features high-performance, low-cost thin-film transistors (TFTs) that set the technology apart.
At Ziehm Imaging, we use IGZO technology in systems such as the Ziehm Solo FD, the Ziehm Vision FD, and also the high-performance Ziehm Vision RFD.
The production and implementation of IGZO panels in intraoperative imaging pays off in safer conditions for clinicians. Frost & Sullivan believes that this trend, combined with the price-performance ratio of Ziehm Imaging systems, various available panel sizes and features (e.g. SmartDose concept; Advanced Active Cooling), will lead to the replacement of image intensifier systems with charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensors. Ziehm Imaging will therefore undoubtedly remain one of the top companies in intraoperative imaging with its IGZO technology.
We are delighted about this award!
