Find out more about how the Planmed Nuance Excel Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM ) System provides superior images, with optimum patient dose.
The Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) system provides superior direct digital breast imaging with an emphasis on system ergonomics, comfort and efficiency. The Nuance Excel is also available in a breast assessment configuration with lightweight magnification kit and direct digital stereotactic biopsy guidance system.
The Nuance Excel FFDM System delivers superior image quality with optimum patient dose. The high-speed tungsten rotating anode X-ray tube, high sensitivity Amorphous Selenium detector and all-digital Flex-AEC allow high patient throughput without compromising image quality. Flex-AEC is fully automatic and determines the optimum exposure parameters for all breast tissue types.
In addition to high-throughput breast screening procedures, the Nuance Excel is also ideal for high-precision diagnostic mammography. The ‘DigiGuide’ is available for digital stereotactic biopsy guidance. It is extremely lightweight, utilising the Nuance Excel ASe detector. The system is compatible with both vertical and lateral biopsy approaches including the use of popular models of vacuum-assisted biopsy device. Geometric magnification views are fulfilled with the lightweight magnification table, available in either x1.6 or x1.8 magnification factor.
The Planmed Nuance is compact in size yet offers excellent ergonomics for ease-of-use. The single stand construction incorporates the very high frequency X-ray generator requiring no bulky additional cabinets. The patient-centric design ensures that the radiographer remains close to the patient when operating the unit. All controls are duplicated on both sides of the unit and the 4-pedal foot-switch allows hands-free movement control.
The Nuance Excel features an acquisition workstation (AWS) with 3 Megapixel display for examination control and review using the ‘Nuance Manager 3’ software. The AWS is an innovative digital image acquisition workstation that presents sharp, high quality diagnostic images on the high-resolution greyscale display. Images can be transferred to PACS, burned to CD/DVD or printed. DICOM worklist provides patient information from HIS / RIS / MIS. A comprehensive Mammography Quality Assurance (QA) programme is provided to ensure optimum system performance.
